For our final planned announcement prior to CybFest NW 2018, we are
pleased to share that we have partnered with
1314: Art of Ben Hansen
to offer an exclusive art print at CybFest NW this year. We sent him a
couple of ideas for a Puget Sound-themed idea involving Transformers, and
to say that he knocked it out of the park would be an understatement.
This print will be a limited run of 25 and will be available for purchase at the Organizers Table.
Thank you again to Ben for his excellent work, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

The schedule for CybFest NW 2018 has been
finalized and is now available. This lists all of the contests we
announced previously as well when the raffle and auction will take
place. All of the contest details can be found
here.
We are also proud to be hosting two fan panels this year.
- 3D Printing for Newbies: Q&A with Demo
- Host: Greg Gaub
- Description: Have you ever wanted to get into 3-D printing? Home 3-D printing has been growing a lot in recent years. This panel will include a brief 3-D printing demonstration followed by tips and hints learned by the presenter over time. This will be followed by a period of Q&A, so be sure to have your questions ready.
- More Than Met the Price!: Transformers Newspaper Ads in the 1980s
- Host: Steve De Anda
- Description: You've seen Transformers in the pages of old Christmas wishbooks and department store catalogs, now explore their appearances in newspaper ads! See recreations of rare original 1980s Transformer ads and line art as they were originally run in ads from stores like Zayre, Lionel Playworld, and other now defunct retail chains.
We are really looking forward to all the activities this year. See everyone on Saturday!

We unfortunately must announce that our planned special guest, Marcelo
Matere, will be unable to attend CybFest NW 2018. He just received some
big projects, and the schedule will not allow him to attend
this year. He has been a class act in our in discussions with him so far,
and we wish him all the best on these projects. We are looking forward to
working with him again in the future.
However, this is still going to be a fantastic year at CybFest. We have a
full dealer room of local sellers as well as Ages Three and Up. We also have some great local
artists coming, not to mention all of our
contests, raffle, and live auction. It's
going to be a fun, full day, and we can't wait to see everyone.
We understand that some fans may have registered for the show for the sole
purpose of meeting Mr. Matere. To that end, if you pre-registered after
the announcement on July 27, 2018, you can request a full refund. Just
send a message to registration@cybfestnw.com with your name and invoice number, and let us know how many
in your party will no longer be attending the show. We do hope that
everyone still plans to attend.
Again, we are very sorry and disappointed for how events transpired, but
we are still looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks for
another great CybFest NW!

We are now in our final week of pre-registration for CybFest NW 2018. If
you plan to be a dealer or attendee at the show, be sure to register now
at
Regular attendees who do not pre-register will still be able to come as walk-ins at 11:00 after the early-bird admission period, but all dealers must pre-register. There are only a few tables left, so don't delay.
Next, CybFest NW's 2018 Cosplay Contest is proud to announce it will be sponsored by ZakLabs! The adult categories will each have $50 worth of CosBond supplies in their prize package. Remember that you can sign up early by emailing elizabethmbayer@gmail.com your name and who you'll be cosplaying. Robots and humans welcome!

Lastly, we have just posted all of the remaining contest details for

Contests have always been a big part of CybFest NW, going back to its
sister convention, CybCon. As usual, we have our Transforming and Trivia
Contests from CybCon and the previously-announced Cosplay Contest. Our
Video Game Contest, Art Contest, and Action Pose contest will also be
returning this year. These contests are always a great way to interact
with fellow Transformers fans, and there should be a little something for
everyone, so we hope you will plan to participate.

We are pleased to announce that Marcelo Matere will be joining us as a
special guest at CybFest NW 2018!
Marcelo Matere is a Brazilian artist currently based in Vancouver,
British Columbia. He is a freelance artist for Hasbro and has worked on
packaging art for the Unicron Trilogy, Alternators, Crossovers, Animated,
and Universe/Generations toy lines. He has drawn concept art for some toy
design, including most of the Robot Heroes line. In addition to all of his
work on Transformers toy lines, he has done illustration for Dreamwave,
3H, Titan Magazines, Fun Publications, and IDW Transformers comics. He
also did art for the Transformers Legends mobile game and is
currently working as illustrator for
Transformers: Forged to Fight.
He will have a table at CybFest NW 2018 where he will be selling some of
his artwork and meeting fans. Additional details regarding his appearance
will be added in the weeks leading up to the show. Be sure to
pre-register now for the show
and come by to meet him and all of the great local artists that will be
there. We'll see everyone there in a few weeks!

We know that the local Transformers collectors community is what makes
CybFest NW the great event that it is. For our fifth year, we would like
to incorporate community-driven events.
Are you interested in hosting a panel at CybFest NW 2018? Submit your

and the panelists' names. All submissions will be reviewed, and selected
panelists will be notified directly.

CybFest NW is proud to announce our 2018 cosplay contest! Compete for
prizes and recognition. Pre-register now by emailing Liz Bayer, our
coordinator for this contest, at

with your name and your character name. You can also register in person at
the show on August 18th.
Guest judges and additional details about this and other contests will be
announced over the next few weeks leading up to the show, so be sure to
check back regularly. All contest details for CybFest NW 2018 can be

We're a month into our pre-registration period for CybFest NW, so we wanted
to send out a reminder to all those who plan to be there as dealers or
attendees. Registration is required for all dealers, and it grants
attendees early access to the show at 10:00 a.m.. The registration window
will close on August 5. 2018.
Our dealer room is shaping up nicely. It will have many local sellers
offering a wide variety of Transformers figures and merchandise. There
will also be many local artists selling Transformers-related artwork and
other custom items. You certainly aren't going to want to miss out.
In addition to the dealer room, we are actively at work planning all of the
activities that fill out the day. Our mainstay contests for both kids and
adults will be returning, as will the raffle and live auction. Keep an eye
on our website for more details and schedule as they become available.
Also, be sure to check out our Facebook page for our new Collector
Spotlight feature, highlighting some of the fans that help make CybFest the
great event that it is.
