  • Have you ever built a collection focused on a single character? What motivates someone to focus on one character over another? How far does (or should) one go down that rabbit hole? Come join a panel of local collectors as they discuss their personal experience with answering those questions and more.


Female Artists and Writers in the Transformers Franchise/Fandom

  • Host: Robo Apollo
  • Robo Apollo and WasaBee host an open discussion about women in official Transformers and fan community spaces. They’ll examine the rising number of female creative forces within comics and animation and how the fandom has shifted in response to new storytelling voices. Join them in exploring the last decade of Transformers media and the impact it has on a new, diverse audience.

    Robo Apollo - Apollo has been a part of the Transformer fandom officially since 2017. She is a fan artist that started contributing artwork in 2018 and has an expressive, brightly colored, bold style. She aspires to contribute her artwork someday for an official Transformers product. Featuring panelists David Cabal (host of the Retro Cabal podcast), Greig Tansley (host of the Unfunny Nerd Tangent podcast and co-writer of Transformers: ReAnimated), and artist of IDW's Transformers issue #21, Blacky Shepherd. We'll discuss our favorite memories and how the legacy of the movie continues to influence Transformers storytelling to this day!

  • Everyone who has ever collected anything has been forced to make various decisions about how and what they will collect. Do you get everything? Do you focus on one area over another? Do you sell off older items as you buy new ones? How do you adjust those guidelines as you move from one stage of life to the next? Join some members of the local Transformers community for a discussion on their personal journeys to curate their passions and search that that elusive life/hobby balance.

The Legacy of CybCon

  • 2020 is the seventh year for CybFest NW, but did you know that it is actually a sister show and successor to the long-running CybCon event? CybCon started in July 2000 and ran for an amazing 13 years! Join CybCon organizer Greg Gaub and CybFest NW organizer Ben Harpold as they discuss CybCon's legacy, starting as a small, home gathering and growing into an annual focal point for the local Transformers community.
